Holistic Nutrition + Mental Health

What you eat can impact how you feel. Many foods we eat today contain harmful ingredients that negatively impact your mental and physical health. Ultra-processed foods can cause inflammation in the body, which leads to moodiness and dysregulated emotions. These types of foods can also cause your body to stay stuck in fight, flight, or freeze and worsen symptoms of anxiety, depression, trauma, and PTSD.

In general, try your best to eat mostly anti-inflammatory foods/”real” foods and reduce the amount of ultra-processed foods you consume. Instead of dieting, we recommend making lifestyle changes and practicing intuitive eating. Check out this Anti-Inflammatory Guide E-book for healthy eating recommendations and focus on "adding in" healthy foods rather than restricting unhealthy foods. As you “add in” healthier food options and reduce your stress levels, your desire for unhealthy foods will decrease and your overall health will improve.

Holistic Product Recommendations

We recommend transitioning to non-tox/low-tox products to help improve your ability to regulate your emotions. Many of the traditional household and personal care products that people use contain harmful chemicals/ingredients that can disrupt your hormones, which impact your mood and cognitive functioning. You don’t have to throw out all of your products at once, but instead you can slowly start to transition to non-tox/low-tox products. Below are some product suggestions and recommendations.
